Arrival in New South Wales

James NOAKES and his wife Sarah (Coleman) with their children, John and Charlotte left England for the journey to the other side of the world. During the voyage John died and the rest of the family arrived in Sydney aboard the James Pattison on 11 December 1838.

Also on board the vessel was Archibald Windeyer who was coming to New South Wales to take up his land at Deepwater in northern New South Wales.
